On Thursday night, Blanton was on the mound, and gave the Miami Marlins nothing.
Miami could only manage a run off three hits against Blanton, while he pitched for seven innings and struckout three.
Shane Victorino launched a home-run into left to put the Phils up 1-0 in the fourth inning.
Later in the fourth, after a Hunter Pence double, John Mayberry Jr. hit a liner into left that allowed Pence to score and make it 2-0 Phils.
In the seventh inning, Ty Wigginton hit a shot into left field for his first home run as a Phillie. At that point, the Phillies had a 3-1 lead over the Marlins.
The Marlins only run came in the fifth inning, when Omar Infante doubled, then was driven in by a John Buck single.
Chad Qualls pitched a scoreless eighth, allowing only one hit.
Then Jonathan Papelbon came in for the save situation, his first at Citizens Bank Park.
John Buck grounded into a double play to short to end the game.
Papelbon got the save, the Phillies got the win, and thier first series win of the season.
