Hamels has to be addressed later

Cole Hamels will be a free agent next year, but with the signing of Jonathan Papelbon and with the needs at shortstop, possibly left field, and definitely hitting still needed to be addressed, GM Ruben Amaro Jr. is in no rush to make offers to Hamels now.

Sandberg probably staying put
The Cardinals hired Mike Matheny to be their new manager, and the Cubs want someone who already has major-league coaching experience to manage their team.

So it looks like Phillie's minor-league manager Ryne Sandberg will be staying with the orginization.
