Pence given time to rest

September 21, 2011

Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly.com has reported that rightfielder Hunter Pence has a "mild strain of the patellar tendon."

Pence left yesterday afternoon's game after the sixth inning, walking with a noticeable limp, after reaching first on a base hit.

Pence did not play in the second game of the doubleheader last night, and had an MRI earlier today.

He will not be playing in tonight's game, but is expected to return to the lineup this weekend.

It was revealed that Pence has patellar tendinitis in his left knee, but it's not anything new to him. In fact, it's not even a concern, "I’ve had it forever. It just flared up a little."
