Thome returns to former team

Jim Thome is returning to his former team, but it's not the Phillies.

Instead he is going back to the Cleveland Indians, where he spent the first 12 years of his career.

Cleveland is claiming Thome from the Minnesota Twins off of trade-waivers. The Twins will be receiving a player to be named on October 15th or before then.

The Indians (63-64) are hoping to catch up to the first place Detroit Tigers (71-59), who currently lead the AL Central by 6.5 games.
